Miscellaneous Items

Many unique items can be created using variations of discs, bowls, and baskets. Two rectangular baskets, one shallow and one deep, may be combined to make the rectangular lidded box shown in Figure 53.

Figure 54 shows an eye-catching creation known as "the pineapple bucket." A "pineapple" top is woven to fit over a container basket (Fig. 51). The pineapple top is similar to a lady's hat (Fig. 40) except that the leaf ends are carried up through the top holes and cut as illustrated.

The first of the handbags in Figure 55 is made from a deep basket; the second is two bowls joined by a lining. Both bags must have appropriate handles.

The ensemble in Figure 56 includes a lady's bonnet and a handbag made by adding a gathered lining to a container basket. Another ensemble, a purse and hat with similar styling and decorations, is shown in Figure 57.
